It appears that the run of Craneway Pickleball and Assemble Kitchen Restaurant is over. It is a mystery why the City of Richmond and the RPA-controlled City Council allowed this
illegal use in the first place after they were advised by the State lands Commission that it did not conform to the restrict\ions of the Public Trust. The City owns the Craneway and leases it to Ford Point LLC (J.R. Orton, III) for $1.00 a year.
The Craneway joins a host of vacant and neglected structures owned or controlled by the City along its valuable waterfront.
