Claudia Jimemez and ROCK Employees Violate Campaigning in Uniform Proh

Councilmember and mayoral candidate Claudia Jimenez recently posted a photo on her official mayoral
campaign Facebook page depicting three ROCK employees in uniform, posing with her in what appears to be a campaign context. The post can be found at:

Campaigning in uniform refers to public employees — including police officers, firefighters, and
other City staff — participating in political or advocacy activities while wearing their official uniforms. This practice is explicitly prohibited under California Government Code § 3206, which states: No officer or employee of a local agency shall participate
in political activities of any kind while in uniform.

Under § 3206, even non-partisan or community-focused advocacy while in uniform can be considered
a violation. The law is designed to maintain the neutrality of public employees in political matters and to prevent the appearance of favoritism or bias
