Whitney Dotson Wins East Bay Regional Park District Ward 1 Board Seat
November 5, 2008

Because Ward 1 of the East Bay Regional Park District spans two counties, the results of the election are not in one place. Adding the results from two counties together, it appears that Richmond resident Whitney Dotson has prevailed over El Cerrito resident Norman La Force 48,153 to 36,970.

Both candidates have strong environmental records and would have made good board members, but it is particularly gratifying to have, perhaps for the first time ever, a Richmond resident representing Ward 1. Whitney is a strong supporter of shoreline open space preservation on the North Richmond undeveloped shoreline.
