April 8, 2004

Oakland Releaf, a non-profit organization that has recently expanded to cover Richmond (Richmond Releaf), invites the public to participate in planting 200 trees at the Shields-Reid Community Center, 1410 Kelsey Avenue, Richmond, CA 94801, on Thursday, April 15, 2004, 11 am to 12 noon.

For complete event details, open the attached MSWORD file.

R.S.V.P. to Kemba Shakur, Executive Director at 510.601.9062

Due to budget cuts and lack of interest in the Richmond Urban Forest by staff and City Council, tree planting sponsored by the City of Richmond ground to a halt some time ago. We are fortunate that Oakland Releaf has picked up the torch (shovel?).
