Honolulu Wednesday, March 26, 1941

Wednesday –

And I still haven’t gotten to town erranding – may go this afternoon – or tomorrow. Got the green organdy from Mrs. S. and it looks just wonderful. The package
just came and I’m so thrilled with the shorts and skirt — & the little black and white dress is a honey – and what’s more – it fits! Think I’ll save for Max’s birthday party next Wed. It’s so crisp looking and cute. I’ll have to hurry to Leatrice
& have the paly suit whittled down.

Last night Bob & I went to Lau Yee Chai – he forgot to call me until six when we’d already had dinner – so again he had dinner alone and we looked on. Met two very interesting people – Capt.
Arnold (Class ’37 – Inf.) and his date – an attractive blond Romanian, artist, & the tallest woman I’ve ever seen – she’s as tall as Bob. We all went to the same table – had loads of fun

The little Chinese waitresses there are so tiny and funny —- they’re almost part of the show “Suzie” and “Violet” (the two we usually have). Guess Lau Yee Chai will become the one & only now
– the engineers have taken over the Young roof garden – leaving no other dancing place except a few joynts.
