Beginning on November 1, 2024, which is the date of my mother’s first letter from her Hawaii trip 84 years ago, I am serializing day by day, the book, Cecilia King’s Extraordinary Senior Trip, which you can obtain from Amazon in either Kindle or paperback.
I hope you enjoy the upcoming nine-months in Hawaii 1940-41. You can order the entire book from Amazon in either paperback or Kindle format, click here.

Tuesday –
I’ve been thinking about schools all night — & still no closer to a decision.
Spent four hours at hula classes this morning – the instructor said my hand movements “had arrived” which made me feel very good. Took my first dive into a dancing class & certainly am up to my eyebrows now in a maze of strange motions and steps. From now on I’ll take double time – 4 classes a week. It’s loads of fun, but hard.
I seem to be “one of the girls at home” this week – no Wed night or aft. Date – no Friday hop date. But it’s a nice week to be idle because all my recovering and illness can be gotten rid of at once – with a good rest besides.
George is going to Miss Wing’s dinner with me –I’ve become a bit dubious about the sukiyaki, though, after hearing it’s final decoration is a whole raw egg, broken & smeared on top of it. Sounds horrible, doesn’t it? Maybe the Hawaiian version will be kinder to us haoles.
It’s two o’clock so I’d better get this in the postman’s way. On second thought –
