More than six years after the Rosie the Riveter WW II Home Front National Historical Park was established in Richmond by an act of Congress signed off by former President Bill Clinton, the City of Richmond (better late than never) has erected signs at the I-580 Marina Bay Parkway off ramps directing travelers to the park. General Superintendent Martha J. Lee (John Muir NHS, Eugene O’Neill NHS, Port Chicago Naval Magazine NM and Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front NHP) reports that she has intercepted four groups of visitors outside city hall today looking for a tour of the park. The Richmond City Hall on Marina Way serves as a temporary visitor center where visitors can pick up park brochures.
