Five years ago, today, a friend delivered a fledging crow to us that she had picked up in the street. She knew I had pet crows when I was a kid and would know how to take care of it.
We named him/her Covid (the Corvid). Covid thrived throughout the summer, entertaining and amazing the many friends he/she made. He/she was never confined and
flew free wherever he/she wanted. But Covid was still a crow at heart. By September, he wanted to hang with the wild crows, and he left for the last time on September 5, 2020, with a final goodbye. Crows are monogamous, and I hope he/she found a forever crow
sweetheart and started a crow dynasty.
