A dynamic, effective organizer for decades,
BRUCE BEYAERT has dedicated himself to improving not only his local Richmond community but the entire Bay Area, earning him the Local Hero Award from the Richmond First United Methodist Church. We are thankful for his devoted, articulate input over many
years promoting many environmental causes, preserving our natural resources, & helping the Bay & open lands become more accessible to the public. Since 1999, when Bruce formed Trails for Richmond Action Committee (TRAC), he has been widely recognized for his
tireless work to facilitate extending the Bay Trail.  As of January 2026, Richmond has over 36 miles of completed trails, more than any other Bay Area Community.  Now approaching 90, Bruce is very active, along with his wife Sandra, as they enjoy hiking all
over Northern California. He has been interviewed on numerous programs including "Bay Area Backroads" & "Open Roads" with Doug McConnell.

Please join us for dinner on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Richmond’s Galileo Club, 371 South 23rd Street (1 block from Cutting Blvd),
Richmond, as we celebrate his Bay Trail accomplishments and learn about the many reasons that Bruce deserves the title “Local Hero.”
