Sunday, October 24, 2:00 PM: Celebration of the Museum”s 50th Anniversary. Join us for an early dinner. Music by the LMP Trio. Historical Fashion Show and Historical Displays. Saturday, November 6, 2004, 2:00 PM – Re-enactment of the launching of the Red Oak. The Richmond Museum of History cordially invites you to attend the re-enactment of the Launching of the Permanente Metals Corporation’s Five Hundred and fifty-eighth ship, the S.S. Red Oak Victory, originally launched at Yard #1 on November 9, 1944. Place: Terminal #1, 1500 Dornan Drive Date: Saturday, November 6, 2004 Launch Time: 2:00 P.M. Invited Speakers: The Honorable George Miller, Congressman Judy Hart, Superintendent, Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park Captain Frank Johnston, Director, Western Region Maritime Administration The Honorable Irma Anderson, Mayor, City of Richmond The Honorable James Johnson, Mayor, City of Red Oak, Iowa Captain Richard Brandes, USCG, Retired Champagne Reception Entertainment $35.00 per person, Reservations Required.
