Richmond has recently become the 57th official Transition Town in the US. See the website at http://www.richmondrivets.org/. The new organization is involved in several projects and outreach events. They would especially like people to know about the Symposium/Transition Town event coming up on March 14th. See below for more details.
The purpose is to unite Richmond residents for a just, thriving and green community. Find out about the world-wide Transition Town movement to build more meaningful lives by growing our own food, creating and conserving energy, sharing with our neighbors and more. The program will consist of an Awakening the Dreamer Symposium, whose purpose is: To bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on Earth. You will gain fresh insight about our world, meet like-minded people, and find the hope and inspiration to help create a new sustainable future. Community groups working on these issues will be there to get your input and let you know some of the wonderful things going on already in Richmond. Come join us!
