Start the New Year with Bay Trail Outings and Workshops
January 14, 2011

The shorelines of San Francisco and San Pablo Bays offer many opportunities for mental refreshment and physical exercise. Check out the Richmond Bay Trail Calendar to view the abundance of varied activities for starting 2011 — getting out to enjoy the Bay Trail, giving back by improving the shoreline environment and helping plan major trail gap closures: January 15 — Flyway Foray at Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline January 17 — MLK, Jr. National Day of Service along the shoreline in Marina Bay and Eastshore State Park January 20 — Community Workshop on Bruener Marsh Restoration and Public Access January 22 — Salt Marsh Harvest Mice & Clapper Rails in Wildcat Marsh along Landfill Loop Trail January 25 — Community Workshop on Bay Trail Connection Between Point Molate & Castro St. February 5 — Point Isabel Plant Restoration February 15 — Over the Hill Gang walk at Point Pinole Regional Shoreline

In particular, please attend the important community workshops on January 20 and 25 to listen, learn and express your views on closure of the two biggest gaps in Richmond’s Bay Trail in order to provide safe, convenient and enjoyable pedestrian and bicyclist access to Point Molate and Point Pinole. These critical projects are finally in the serious planning and preliminary design stages after eleven years of effort by TRAC, the City of Richmond, EBRPD and the San Francisco Bay Trail Project. This is the time for your input and support!
