Resilient by Design I Bay Area Challenge Kickoff Celebration Dear Bay Area Leaders I serve on the Executive Board of the Resilient by Design | Bay Area Challenge. As such, I want to cordially invite you to attend the Kick-Off Ceremony Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Richmond, California. We will officially announce the 10 Design Teams and Community Partners selected to participate in the year-long Challenge to the greater Bay Area community. The Kick-Off will have an engaging art activity to educate the public about sea-level rise and great free food! The ceremony is the Kick-Off to the Collaborative Research Phase where the 10 Design Teams will travel around the Bay and learn, listen to community members about the region’s vulnerabilities and strengths and develop creative and implementable solutions that addresses the effects of sea-level rise.
