After failed attempts to select Corky Booze, Andres Soto and Gary Bell to fill the seat vacated by Mindell Penn, the City Council mustered five votes for Tony Thurmond last night. Voting for Thurmond were Butt, Marquez, Anderson, Viramontes and Rogers. Presumably, Thurmond will be sworn in on July 19, 2005.
