We are pleased to present Bay Area bluegrass legend Laurie Lewis and her band, the Right Hands, on Friday, April 10, 7:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church, located at 201 Martina Avenue in Point Richmond. Veteran singer/songwriter Richard Brandenburg opens the show. Tickets are $20.00 online at www.pointacoustic.org or $25 at the door. One of the most accomplished performers on the acoustic & bluegrass scene today, Laurie is a stirring vocalist, gifted songwriter, champion fiddler, and topnotch bandleader. She has won a Grammy, and has twice been named Female Vocalist of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. Her band, The Right Hands, boasts some of the finest bluegrass and roots music practitioners on the West Coast. They are: Laurie’s longtime collaborator and duet singing partner Tom Rozum on mandolin, in-demand LA session player Patrick Sauber on banjo, on-fire fiddler from the David Grisman Sextet Chad Manning, and 16-year-old bassist phenom Max Schwartz. Their aural blend of silk and steel is a joy to hear. This is Laurie’s third time at Point Richmond Acoustic.
