Dear Friend, A local organization, Next 10, has created an innovative Budget Challenge that mirrors the decisions I’ll have to make balance our state’s budget deficit. The simulation contains accurate figures for California’s revenues and expenditures, the Governor’s proposed cuts, and alternatives so that you can make your own choices. I invite you to take the California Budget Challenge. Join me and Next 10:
(RSVP NOW)Wednesday, May 12 6:00-7:30 pm, Richmond City Hall, 450 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond (RSVP NOW) Thursday, May 13 7:00-8:30 pm, Albany High School, 603 Key Route Boulevard, Albany
At the event you’ll be given instant response clickers that allow you to vote on policy options and see the results instantly. You’ll have the opportunity to choose how much you would spend on schools, prisons, the environment, and other state programs- and how you would pay for them. Your responses to the Budget Challenge will give me the feedback I can take back to Sacramento! Invite your friends! For more information visit asm.ca.gov/skinner See you soon, Nancy Skinner Assemblymember, 14th District P.S. If you can’t make it to one of the Budget Summits, you can still take The Budget Challenge online. Once you’ve completed the Challenge, be sure to click on “Take Action” so I will get your responses.
