Main Street News July 25, 2016

Greetings,

Last week we shared news of the graduation event for this year’s Summer Youth Entrepreneur Program. Today we are pleased to announce another exciting update: the participants’ first day on the job at TJ Maxx!

Big thanks to our friends at Richmond YouthWORKS and TJ Maxx in Pinole for all their support in providing this valuable opportunity for our young adults. We are so grateful for these partnerships and look forward to the continued collaboration. Join us in congratulating these young ladies in a job well done and in wishing them all best for their next job at hand! Happy reading! ~Your friends at Richmond Main Street

Neighborhood Ambassador Chronicles

Deonte’ and Mary with Najari Smith, director Rich City Rides. Photo courtesy of Najari Smith.

The Richmond Main Street Neighborhood Ambassadors showed a little extra love to local merchant Rich City Rides Community Bike Skate Shop last week. The maintenance crew removed weeds along the base of the new community mural, the sidewalk, and the tree wells along Macdonald Avenue. Mary and Deonte’ are Richmond residents, graduates of Rubicon Programs, and the district’s longest serving ambassadors.

They make a fantastic team, working together to keep the district looking its very best. Say hello or give them a wave the next time you see them out on Main Street.
