Congressman George Miller’s Carquinez Straits Heritage Area Committee has added Richmond’s San Pablo Strait to their Celebrate The Straits series of events planned for this month. As described below, please join TRAC Vice Chair David Dolberg on Saturday, August 10 to see a beautiful stretch of Richmond’s shoreline which is terra incognita for most people. — Bruce Beyaert, TRAC Chair Phone/Fax 510-235-2835 Email: tracbaytrail@earthlink.net August 10 – San Pablo Peninsula: Hike the Proposed Bay Trail ” This is a first time opportunity to hike the proposed Bay Trail from Point San Pablo Yacht Harbor, through Terminal 4 at the tip of the peninsula and down the western shoreline to Point Molate (the ROW of the historic Beltway Railway). See 5 miles of dramatic Bay shoreline with stunning views of the East Brother lighthouse on East Brother Island and a tour of the Winehaven campus of Point Molate, both of which are on the State and National Historic Registers. You will also be able to check out the newly proposed regional park which will include most of the western half of the peninsula. 9am ” 12pm.
