Richmond neighborhoods are establishing themselves as sources of news and information to replace the traditional and truly local newspapers that no longer exist. Most neighborhood councils publish excellent newsletters. As a City Council member, I am fortunate to receive copies of all of them, including the newsletter of the Neighborhood Coordinating Council. Anyone who belongs to a neighborhood council (memberships are typically modest ” around $5 annually) will receive the neighborhood council”s newsletter with postage paid by the City of Richmond.
In addition, many have websites that are updated constantly. Examples include:
Marina Bay Neighborhood Council: http://www.marinabaycouncil.com/
Point Richmond: www.pointrichmond.com and http://www.brickyardrealty.com/PRNC%20Agenda.htm
North and East: http://northandeast.org/
If I missed others, please let me know.
