Accessing the Future of Clean Transportation
MCE is helping transition to an equitable, clean transportation future with rebates for workplace and multifamily charging stations and income-qualified people who purchase EVs. More than 24% of energy-related carbon emissions in the United States comes from transportation, with almost 50% of that from motor vehicles. MCE has helped 235 customers access clean transportation through our income-qualified EV rebates, distributing more than $800,000 worth of incentives. Access to clean transportation is also an equity issue. The average EV owner can save around $10,000 during their vehicle’s lifetime compared to owning a gas car, but charging availability is a major concern. MCE has provided more than $1.3 million to install 1,500 public charging ports across our service area, improving local air quality. If your jurisdiction is interested in increasing EV charging accessibility or learning how our program team may be working in your area, please let me know.
MCE’s EV Work in Practice: New Charging at Napa Valley College
MCE and Enel X partnered with Napa Valley College to add 12 new EV charging ports on campus. With $64,000 in rebates, MCE helped triple charging access for campus visitors while reflecting Napa Valley College’s commitment to sustainability by increasing access to green transportation.
