California State Lands Commission and City of Richmond Reject Craneway Pickleball Proposal

With a letter from the State lands Commission and a letter from the City of Richmond, the proposal to fill the Craneway with pickleball courts appears dead on arrival.

The State Lands Commission concluded,

We hope that the Craneway lessee, Orton Development, which leases the Craneway from the City of Richmond for only $1.00 per year, will continue its history of using the Craneway as a world class venue for a wide variety of events, many of them open to the public, such as trade shows, proms, weddings, banquets, parties, festivals, performances and celebrations.
