Dear Mother and Daddy,

Have just sealed one letter but didn’t quite finish the day’s news before the last line was full.

Had a wonderful game of tennis yesterday morning with Mary Allison – decided to quit on a 7-7 tie – came home for me to slip on a dress & get a coke, then went to her house for lunch. They have the loveliest big stucco house with gardens and a huge lawn. And her mother is perfectly lovely. After lunch we rode around & down to Waikiki – went into the new Outrigger Club (a very exclusive organization – with this beautiful new club right on the beach) – very modern, marine blue. The walls of the bar & sun deck are woven lahala. Designed by Gumps, the aristocratic artist establishment of all these islands and the West Coast. Speaking of Gumps reminds me of their beautiful glass etched with Hawaiian flowers.
After window shopping through Waikiki we detoured through Ft. Ruger to steal some hibiscus blossoms for our hair -- & eventually home.\




Last night Bob Dunlop & I did about the usual – movie at the Waikiki – he went to sleep – then to the tavern for Spanish omelettes & coffee – to town to the Young – coming back dropped by Trader Vic’s then homeward bound.
