FINAL NOTICE -- Help Support the Next Generation of Richmond Promise Scholars
August 12, 2024

I am hosting a fundraiser for Richmond Promise at my home Saturday, August 17, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 235 E Scenic Ave, Richmond, CA 94801. Food and refreshments will be provided. Richmond Promise is the scholarship program that since 2016 has awarded over $21 million in scholarships to over 3,300 graduates of Richmond high schools:

  • Latinx: 66%
  • Black:  14%
  • Asian:  12%
  • First in family to go to college:64%
  • Attending 4-year institution:    70%
  • Attending 2-year institution:    30%

Originally funded with $35 million as part of the Chevron Environment Community Investment Agreement (ECIA), Richmond Promise will soon run out of money to fund new scholarships. At our fundraiser, we will commemorate the end of the community benefits agreement that established and initially sustained Richmond Promise while also ushering in a new era of fund sustainability that will ensure thousands more Richmond youth receive our organization’s support. Since launching in 2016, Richmond Promise has supported more than 3,300 scholarship recipients along their higher education journeys, and we’ve paid out more than $10.5 million in scholarships.

With the support of friends, colleagues, and community members like you, we can help even more students access higher education, earn degrees and certifications, and begin their careers!

Join us on August 17 to learn about the work we do, meet Richmond Promise staff and stakeholders, and help us fundraise for the direct benefit of our Scholars. Our goal at the event is to raise $7,500 to fully fund the annual scholarships of five Richmond Promise Scholars. We can do it! Minimum contribution is $250.

Please RSVP at your earliest convenience by emailing give@richmondpromise.org, and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. Please note that this fundraiser is an invitation-only event at a private residence, and this information should not be shared on social media. Please share the names of any plus-ones in your RSVP email so they can be included on the guest list.
