Two days of prep work culminated yesterday with a crane lift of the 700-lb. belfry and bell atop the historic Sierra City School (See The Bell Rings Again at Sierra City's Historic Old Schoolhouse, July 23. 2024). The construction crew consisted of Tom Butt, Andrew Butt, Daniel Butt and Robert Ciudad-Real. Shirley Butt served as ground crew. Crane work was provided by Auburn Crane. Once the belfry was in place, it was bolted down and flashed onto the roof.
