Guess who's back! After a long winter break we are back with our 1st tournament of the year! Bring your best game to the 10th Annual Williams-Easterling Community Chess Tournament on Saturday March 11, 2023. The tournament recognizes their contribution to promoting community and scholastic chess in the City of Richmond. This is the longest continual running tournament in West Contra Costa County.
Dr. McKinley Williams, former president of Contra Costa Community College developed the concept of community chess tournament providing non-rated and casual players of all ages an opportunity to participate in competitive chess. Mr. John Easterling taught the Royal game of chess to thousands of youth in the Bay Area. He also taught for many years at the Richmond Main Library.
Everyone is welcome to this free community chess tournament. Face masks are required to participate in this tournament. This is a Quad tournament, chess sets and clocks are provided. Please click the link below to sign up!
