It’s that time again! Bring your best game to the 4th Richmond Community Chess Festival’s National Chess Day celebration at the 15th Annual Spirit & Soul Event on Saturday, October 14, 2023. This is a free community chess event; pre-registration is highly recommended.  This year, we will have several activities. See if you can take on the Black Knight of Richmond with the Black Knight Challenge for your chance to receive swag.

On-site Registration:
10:00 – 11:00am

Bug House:
11 am - 12 pm
Bug House is an outrageously fun team quick (5 minutes) game in which one partner plays White and the other plays Black. As a player captures an opponent's piece, that captured piece is passed to the partner. The partner can either make a regular chess move or place any one of the pieces passed by the partner anywhere on the board.

Quad Tournament (G30) non-rated:
12:00pm – 3:00pm
Rounds: 12:00pm; 1:00pm; 2:00pm
Trophy presentation to Quad winners at 3:00pm.
