After giving away some 1,400 square feet of public property and approving a fence at 130 East Scenic that the majority of the neighborhood opposed, the incompetent and corrupt city attorney, public works director and city engineer are poised to present and advocate for an even greater giveaway on March 7, 2023, when the encroachment application for 8 Western Drive is scheduled for a public hearing by the City Council. Like 130 East Scenic, I prepared a detailed letter of opposition for the 8 Western Drive encroachment that was sent to all City Council members, but none bothered to respond. Click here for the 8 Western Drive letter.
The proposed 8 Western Drive encroachment is even more egregious than 130 East Scenic because it involves more land, includes private parking for the applicant on public land and was fully built out three years ago without any permits. The applicant, owner of the million dollar plus home, is not asking permission, he is asking forgiveness. See a video here.
Interested neighbors can email City Council members and send an email to the city clerk with opinions. The city clerk’s email is pamela_christian@ci.richmond.ca.us, and the City Council members emails are below:

The best thing to do is also Zoom in to the City Council meeting. See directions on the March 7, City Council Agenda, which will be out on March 2. |
