MCE Reports 150% Increase in Energy Efficiency

July has been a busy month at MCE! I am excited to provide this update with recent news, achievements, and timely information to share with your community.

Key Updates

  • MCE’s 2021 Energy Efficiency Report has been released, highlighting an almost 150% year-over-year increase in energy efficiency savings. In 2021, our energy efficiency programs provided $1.6 million in rebates to support efficiency and health and safety upgrades. The participating 285 homes and over 100 businesses will benefit from approximately $2.2M in bill savings. If you know residents and businesses who could benefit from energy efficiency upgrades, please let us know! We’d love to connect with you on opportunities to share this information. Learn More »

  • MCE has partnered with West Marin Medical Center to install a 10kW energy storage system which will be paired with rooftop solar to provide emergency backup power for critical medical facility needs. The battery will also provide an estimated $30,400 in bill savings over 7 years and increase the use of renewable energy through smart charging and discharging. Learn More »
  • MCE has launched our second portable battery giveaway to support backup power for medically vulnerable residents in the event of an outage. The batteries can supply up to 3 days of clean, reliable power and will be provided at no-cost to income-qualifying customers who rely on electric medical devices. Learn More »

Hotter summer months increase concerns about the likelihood of outages. We created the resources below to help customers better understand these outages and what they can do to reduce the impacts at home. We encourage you to share this content on social media or forward it to your public information officer.
