MCE 100% Renewable Service Now Cheaper Than PG&E

MCE Deep Green Energy Service, Deep Green Champion Rising Loafer

As of March 1, 2022, MCE residential customers are saving an average of $13 a month on their electricity bills compared to PG&E. MCE's 100% renewable is less expensive than PG&E saving customers $7 a month on average. Customers can choose MCE Deep Green 100% renewable energy to save on their electric bill and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Pittsburg Schools Receive $715K for Energy Storage

Pittsburg School District Energy Storage Project

MCE is providing $715,000 to Pittsburg Unified School District to help pay for more than 1.6 megawatts of energy storage at 10 of their 13 district campuses. The batteries will be paired with existing solar to help keep the lights on during outages. This project could save the school district more than $2.8 million over the next seven years.

MCE’s second annual Supplier Diversity Report, published on March 1, 2022, showcases MCE’s $5 million investment in small and diverse businesses including woman–, minority–, LGBT–, and disabled–veteran–owned businesses.

MCE Submits $188 Million Energy Efficiency Business Plan

MCE energy efficiency and demand management programs

On March 4, 2022, MCE filed a business plan with the California Public Utilities Commission to invest $188 million in energy efficiency and demand management programs. The eight-year plan will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase grid resiliency, and extend MCE’s Peak FLEXmarket Program . The plan also includes new equity offerings for residents in defined environmental justice communities in MCE’s service area.
