MCE's Largest Solar Plus Storage Project Yet

MCE’s Board of Directors has approved our largest solar plus storage project. Located in Kern County, the Golden Fields Solar project will provide power for around 52,000 homes each year. This new large-scale solar plus storage facility will generate 100 MW of solar energy with a co-located 75 MW lithium-ion battery.

Sustainable Contra Costa Receives Charles F. McGlashan Advocacy Award

MCE’s Board of Directors recognized Sustainable Contra Costa as the 2021 honoree of the Charles F. McGlashan Advocacy Award. Last year, Sustainable Contra Costa led the way on youth engagement and outreach efforts with their youth leadership branch, Sustainable Leadership in Action. The group promoted Deep Green, supported our Because Of Youth campaign, and hosted green career conversations with local youth.

Supporting Community Energy Resilience

MCE is partnering with the Marin Community Foundation to build new community resiliency projects. By combining solar with storage at critical facilities in Marin County, we can help keep vulnerable populations safe with access to power when the grid goes down. Learn more about the projects we’re supporting, including the Lagunitas School District and San Geronimo Valley Community Center, here.
