Brianni Peters, currently living in an RV at the Castro encampment, signed a lease today for a 2 BR apartment in San Pablo, thanks to Richmond Rotary's Housing First program. Peters and her 13 year-old daughter Adria, currently attending Richmond High School, will be moving in over the weekend. This is the 11th housing placement financed by the Rotary program. The payment for one year’s rent was made possible by a $20,000 grant from Chevron and additional donations from the Mayor’s Community Fund.
The apartment was made available by the property manager Paul Morris. Morris and Peters signed the lease agreement today in Morris's office, then went to a nearby hardware store to get a set of keys made. Peters is a staff member at SOS Richmond and just started a new full-time job at Whole Foods.
Thanks to Rotarian Tom Herriman for facilitating the move-in!
