Subject: PG&E Outages in the East Bay Area

Good Afternoon,

We currently have 125 outages on 52 circuits impacting 11,831 customers without power primarily in the areas of San Pablo, Richmond and El Cerrito.

PG&E’s Operational Emergency Center (OEC) proactively activated yesterday evening and crews are responding to safely restore power as quickly as possible.  In addition, we are sending the following communications to all impacted customers:

“Hello. This is a message from Pacific Gas and Electric Company calling with an update on the power outage impacting your neighborhood.

Due to the recent weather event, reports of multiple pole related incidents had caused extensive damage to our equipment resulting in an abnormally high number of outages.

PG&E crews have been working to assess damage and make repairs to restore power safely and as quickly as possible.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience, and we know this is especially difficult given the multiple outages that have occurred in the area.

We have brought in additional crews to help with these efforts, and we appreciate your patience and understanding while we continue to work through the night to restore your electric service.
You can report electric hazards and get up to date outage information for your neighborhood by calling PG&E at 1-800-743-5002 or visiting our website at https://pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/outages/map/.”

I will share updates from the OEC Incident Commander as new information is available.  I expect the next update to share soon after our planned 1600 meeting.
