| On July 28th the Mayor’s Office learned that an elderly resident living in a Richmond Housing Authority apartment unit had a severe case of bed bugs that required their furniture being thrown away. Without resources of their own to replace the furniture, the Mayor’s Office took to social media to ask the community for help in providing the resident with essential pieces of furniture like a bed, couch and other items. Richmond residents responded to us within minutes offering furniture, delivery services, and other aid to the resident during their time of need. We’re happy to share that the resident’s apartment has been refurnished thanks to the generosity of our community. Thanks to all those who made offers, and to Honey-Do Hauling, LLC for delivering a couch on extremely short notice!
