Dear Tom,
Northern California is famous for shipyards and vineyards...
Kaiser-Richmond Shipyards produced 747 ships during World War II and built them faster and at lower cost than any other shipyard. That's why the name Kaiser is famous in Northern California history.
Wine has been grown in California vineyards since the 17th Century. But it was in the 20th Century that Northern California wines became famous and today they are ranked with the best in the world.
Riggers Loft Wine Company is located right next to Red Oak Victory and occupies the building that served as the riggers loft for Shipyard No. 3 during World War II. Beginning tomorrow, July 4, we are partnering with our neighbors to bring you a unique opportunity to "consume" some of California's history:
- Pay for an adult full-price admission to Red Oak Victory and you receive a coupon for $2 off a glass of wine when you visit Rigger's Loft.
- Or go to Riggers Loft first, purchase a glass of wine and you will be given a $2 off coupon to use toward the admission price on Red Oak Victory.
Either way you can't lose! On the Fourth of July, visit our famous ship to show your American patriotism and enjoy a glass of wine to show your Northern California patriotism. And save some money doing it! |
