The CPRC (Community Police Review Commission) recommendation to the City Council regarding Reimagining Public Safety Task Force proposal:  Last night, the CPRC discussed and considered the Reimagining Public Safety Task Force recommendations and impacts to RPD.

Ultimately, the CPRC voted to recommend to the City Council that the funding for the Task Force recommendations not come from any police officer layoffs within the next budget year and that permanent funding sources come from elsewhere (and not the RPD budget).

The vote was 5-1 with Commissioners Carol Hegstrom, Oscar Garcia, Yenny Garcia, Diego Garcia and Dow Tunis voting Yes; Commissioner Randy Joseph voted No. Three commissioners were absent.
