On behalf of Maribel Rodriguez, Director of Development and Communications for the Richmond Promise, and our entire team, I am pleased to share that the Richmond Promise was recently awarded an elite grant from the Kresge Foundation as a part of the nationwide College Promise 2.0 initiative. As you may know, the College Promise (a non-partisan organization founded by President Obama in 2015) has been on a mission to make college universal, free, and accessible.
As a part of the College Promise 2.0 initiative, only 11 organizations nationwide were granted by the Kresge Foundation to focus on research, programming, and scaling the next generation of equitable, financially sustainable community college promise programs, or “free college." Of thousands of applicants, the Richmond Promisee was chosen as one of the eleven national recipients of this award.
We have written a short press release to share with our community and will be very grateful if you can share it with your network and peers. We hope you can support our organization by helping us amplify our voice and sharing the good news with the community.
