In a letter sent to the Richmond city clerk and District Attorney Diana Becton, the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 188 requested an investigation of the residency claimed by candidates Melvin Willis and Najari Smith. As the City moved to district elections this year, each of these candidates moved his voter registration to a new district in which they filed just days before the filing deadline to run for City Council.
