| The photo below just popped up on Facebook to remind me what the Riggers Loft looked like six years ago. It was literally falling down and had been written off by the Port of Richmond. Thanks to my colleagues on the City Council (yes, especially the Richmond Progressive Alliance members), the recommendations of staff (port director, fire chief and police chief) were reversed and the historic landmark building saved and rehabilitated.
Today, the building houses the Port of Richmond offices and the Riggers Loft Wine Company, a destination of growing popularity. On May 20, 2018, the Riggers Loft hosted 600 people at the second annual Taste of Richmond.
