RICHMOND CITY COUNCIL HOSTS 11TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION – SISTERS IN SOLIDARITY/HERMANAS EN SOLIDARIDAD 2018

Richmond, CA

Come celebrate 11 years of solidarity and women’s political leadership! The City of Richmond is proud to host the 11th Annual Sisters in Solidarity Women’s Day Celebration at the Richmond Auditorium on Saturday, March 10th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

This year’s program includes music and poetry from local artists, a sketch artist and comedian, and a call to action from keynote speakers Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton and Council Member Ada Recinos. Council Member Jovanka Beckles will serve as the Master of Ceremonies, and will host a raffle with prizes donated by Richmond businesses. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with local service organizations over a free catered lunch, and learn how they can help #PressforProgress and support #MeToo.

This year, the program will include a preconference activity for those who would like a low impact physical activity. Qigong will be offered from 9:40 AM to 10:00 AM. Qigong is a Chinese system of physical exercises and breathing control related to Tai Chi.

This free family event is open to all members of the community. Come help us celebrate International Women’s Day and the incredible contributions made by Richmond’s women leaders. Please help us to spread the word--we can’t wait to see you there!
