  New Mayor's Office Staff
October 19, 2018

I am pleased to announce the latest members of the Mayor’s Office Staff to replace those who have recently moved to other jobs or graduate school.

Dominique Roache-Green, Director of Policy Initiatives, is a longtime Bay Area resident who currently resides in Oakland.  She graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor’s in Speech Communications and earned her Master’s in Public Administration with an emphasis in Public Management and Policy Analysis, from California State University, Eastbay.

Before joining the Mayor’s Office in 2018, she served as the Human Services Coordinator of Homeless Services for the City of Livermore.  In this position she worked alongside local non-profits and cities as well as the homeless community, to develop a framework that would address and offer some resolve for the growing homeless concerns plaguing the Tri-Valley.  She also worked for the County of Alameda in various capacities but primarily, as what she calls, a “street-level Bureaucrat”, providing direct services to the disenfranchised.

Dominique is a committed and dedicated public administrator who is ready to serve and support the City of Richmond.

Ruben Hernandez Story, Director of Projects and Programs, was born in Rio Bravo, Mexico (although his family is based in Monterrey, Mexico) and raised in South Texas (Donna). He graduated from Ohio State University with a BA in International Studies and a minor in Spanish. His first political experience was interning in the Columbus office of U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown .He then worked at the Ohio Senate for Senator Cecil Thomas for over two years before chasing a life-long dream of moving to California (I understand a girlfriend was part of that dream). His passion areas include education, healthcare, and immigration. These three areas gave him the opportunity to chase his dreams.

Alex Knox remains chief of staff.

Stop by the mayor’s Office and welcome them!
