If you are a property owner, you are responsible for the condition of the sidewalk abutting your property. You may be sued if someone is injured on that sidewalk.

At last weeks’ City Council meeting we had a study session on sidewalk issues – Repair, maintenance and liability. A law firm, AGHW provided a presentation (http://sireweb.ci.richmond.ca.us/sirepub/cache/2/1puh3jv5rt5lopu241bet5rr/49874707042017120137969.PDF). The city manager and city attorney were directed to prepare recommendations for the City Council.
