Come Build a Park in ONE Day!

Join Richmond volunteers on March 17th as they transform Wendell Park with all new play structures, fun activities, and more! Refreshments provided.

You’re invited to help us make Richmond more playful by creating a new place for kids to play with the City of Richmond, Richmond Friends of Recreation and Target! The project is in partnership with KaBOOM!, the national nonprofit dedicated to giving kids the childhood they deserve by bringing play to those who need it most. The playground build begins early in the morning with volunteers arriving at an empty site.

Within hours, KaBOOM! leads volunteers to transform the space into a vibrant neighborhood-gathering place. Come witness the transformation yourself! You can join as a community volunteer for the entire day, or you can visit as an observer during any part of the day.
