Move of Historic SS Red Oak Victory Ship,
and Grand Opening of Riggers Loft Wine Company
The City of Richmond, the Richmond Museum Association, Riggers Loft Wine Company and Foss Maritime Company will celebrate the successful relocation of the historic SS Red Oak Victory ship and grand opening of the Riggers Loft Wine Company on Friday, March 4, 2016. The SS Red Oak Victory is the last surviving ship built in the Kaiser Richmond Shipyards during World War II, and it remains a monument to all the men and women who worked in war-related industries as part of the World War II Home Front.
The successful relocation of the ship to Basin 5 will be complimented by the grand opening of Richmond’s newest winery – Riggers Loft Wine Company. The winery will feature a wine production facility, wine tasting room, banquet facility and panoramic views of San Francisco Bay, including unparalleled views of downtown San Francisco and the East Bay.
