Since hiring a new Business License Enforcer in September 2016, the City of Richmond has collected $26,437.63 in business license taxes that were either delinquent or would have gone unpaid under the previous passive collection system. New collections are averaging over $3,000 a week. Nearly 1,000 notices of violation have been mailed. I am excited that this is going on. We need all the revenue we can sweep up!

Regarding Airbnb, the City of Richmond has collected $27,100 in Transient Occupancy Tax from 18 short term renters. From these same businesses, we have collected $4,200 in Business License Tax. |
