As soon as its new liquor license is delivered, the new Baltic Restaurant, at the same time Point Richmond’s oldest, will open under the ownership of Hector Hernandez and Heather Mervine with a new name, “Brezo at Baltic Square.”
Both Heather and Hector have been working in restaurants and catering for over 20 years, and this will fulfill their dream to open their own establishment.
Heather was raised on a small organic farm in Northern California and began cooking when she was 6. After high school, she attended the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and has worked in restaurants and catering ever since.
Hector is from Mexico City where he was raised with 11 siblings and a mom who cooked amazing Mexican food. He came to Richmond 25 years ago and has worked in restaurants and catering ever since.
The new Brezo at Baltic Square will be a family friendly restaurant that features a combination of Heather’s and Hector’s backgrounds, California farm fresh weaving in ingredients from Latin America. The new Brezo at Baltic Square will focus on local food, beer and wine with an effort to source non-GMO, free range, sustainable and organic ingredients.
They will be serving lunch and dinner with weekend brunch. |
