POINT RICHMOND, CA, July 14, 2015-Point Richmond Music's (PRM) 2015 season continues on Friday, August 14th. The free concert series will feature jump blues bands, Stompy Jones & Rhythm Boogie and Richie Barron & Da Mob, as well as a prize drawing, face-painting for children and dancing in the street. Local restaurants are open on concert nights and offer a wide variety of cuisines, and proceeds from Point Richmond Music's no-host bar directly support the series. PRM's outdoor concert venue is located at the corner of Park Place and Washington Avenue in historic downtown Point Richmond.

San Francisco-based vintage rhythm and blues sextet Stompy Jones & Rhythm Boogie opens the show at 5:30 pm. Little David Rose's thumpin' stand-up bass, the double-shuffle drumming of Lee Beary, and the bounce piano of William Beatty provide the rhythmic foundation of the band's jump style. Riffing on top is the trumpet sound of Robert Dehlinger and Keith Crossan on the saxophone. Hank Maninger on vocals and lead guitar heads up Stompy Jones' trademark style.

At 6:45 pm, Richie Barron & Da Mob take the stage. Guitar slinger Barron began his career as vocalist and guitarist with Junior Walker, toured with ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard and cut his blues teeth in clubs from Dallas to Chicago. His band is hard-hitting in the Oakland tradition with an exhilarating horn section, powerful vocals and blues harmonica. Barron's original jump blues songs and interviews have been featured on the nationally syndicated show House of Blues Radio with Blues Brother, Elwood Blues (aka Dan Aykroyd).

PRM is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit group that celebrates diversity and promotes the arts and community through the universal language of music. The grassroots PRM series brings a wide range of top-notch musicians to the East Bay neighborhood of Point Richmond as a free cultural offering to the community. Concerts are held on the second Friday of each month, June through September, from 5:30 pm to 7:45 pm. The 2015 season will include a final concert on Friday, September 25th to close the season.
