The County of Marin, and cities of Richmond, Belvedere, Corte Madera, Fairfax, Larkspur, Mill Valley, Ross, San Anselmo, Tiburon, and Novato, were recognized as Green Power Communities by the Environmental Protection Agency again in 2015 for choosing to use Marin Clean Energy's (MCE) renewable power. This is the third year many of MCE's member communities have received the honor.
Many of MCE's member cities and towns as well as the County of Marin are ranked in the top 15 in the country based on the percentage of Green Power!
The EPA's Green Power Partnership is a voluntary program that encourages organizations to use green power as a way to reduce the environmental impacts associated with conventional electricity use. MCE makes it possible for cities, homes, and businesses to receive this recognition by giving customers the choice of 50% or 100% clean, renewable power. |
