Doctors Medical Center Announces Free
Drive-Through Flu Shot Clinic
West County’s only public hospital will host free flu shot clinic
Friday, October 18th, from 2 PM to 6 PM
Doctors Medical Center’s annual drive-through flu shot clinic will be held Friday, October 18th between 2 PM and 6 PM. Community residents, age 18 and over, are invited to receive a vaccination without leaving their vehicles. No appointment is needed. Participants should enter from the hospital’s West entrance on Vale Road and follow the signs.
“Every year, tens of thousands of people come down with the flu, but getting a vaccination is one of the easiest ways to prevent it,” explained West Contra Costa Healthcare District Board Chair Eric Zell. “By offering a drive-through clinic, the Healthcare District is providing West County residents with access to flu shots that are free and convenient—and flu shot seekers don’t even have to leave their cars.”
Experienced nursing students from Contra Costa College will once again assist Doctors Medical Center staff during the clinic. “This has been such a great opportunity for everyone involved,” Zell noted. “The nursing students get true public health experience and the hospital can reach more people who need flu shots most of all.”
Doctors Medical Center is located at 2000 Vale Road, in San Pablo, off of San Pablo Dam Road.
