Last week, we put out a call for skilled volunteers to make emergency repairs for the wood water tank at East Brother Lighthouse (East Brother Lighthouse Volunteers Needed for Special Project September 24, September 17, 2013).
We got an amazing response, and an extraordinary group assembled on the island yesterday to get the job done. Thanks, to Greg Bosley, Curt Roca, Bill Koziok, Fred Dickson, Steve Ruggles, Daniel Butt, Zak Wear, Jon Haeber, Joseph Puleo, Nancy Baer, Sara Butt and Ryland Butt. Thank you all for helping with the tank repair project. Keep your fingers crossed that the repair is successful.
I hope others will sign up for and participate in our regular volunteer Saturdays (Wickie Days). See http://www.ebls.org/volunteering.html.
Thanks, also to Jack Hillman of Hall-Woolford Tank Co., Inc. woodtanks@aol.com for telling us how to make the repair.
