Below please find the draft Chevron Refinery Fire Briefing agenda that Randy Sawyer, Chief Environmental Health and Hazardous Materials Officer and City staff developed.
They have discussed as the meeting format for the first briefing:
1. This is intended to be the first of weekly briefings (10:00 am an Mondays, except Labor Day).
2. The meetings will be facilitated by Randy Sawyer or Michael Kent of Contra Costa Health Services.
3. All regulators/investigating agencies (including Chemical Safety Board representatives [they have confirmed their attendance], BAAQMD, Cal-OSHA, US-EPA) will be invited to attend and participate.
4. Chevron will be asked to attend and participate regarding their internal investigation.
5. Each agency will be asked to review the scope of their work and any reportable findings to date.
6. We will provide an opportunity for any City or County elected officials to comment.
7. We will give the opportunity for members of the press or public to ask questions of the agencies regarding process and scope.
The purpose of these briefings is to inject ongoing transparency into the investigative process, which we understand will take some time.
